Riding through history. Supporting the future.
Retracing the route of the 1926 Tour de France and telling (almost) no one about it, but simply enjoying it for yourself?
I’ve approached many tours in much the same way, ones that – let’s say – had a certain potential for escalation. This time, I’m delighted to be able to share my little cycle tour with others. I’m particularly pleased that this isn’t just happening through documentation on social media and my website, but that the initiative can be linked to a unique fundraising project.
BIKE AID e.V. Charity Projects 2026
At the end of the year, BIKE AID e.V. will distribute the proceeds from donations equally among the following three projects:

Friends’ Association
for children of parents with cancer
Köllertalschule Püttlingen
State special school
for physical and motor development
Miteinander leben lernen
Association for Inclusion and Rights
of People with Disabilities
BIKE AID - Ride to help
BIKE AID was founded in 2005 as a non-profit association in the Saarland and is now one of the most active and innovative cycling clubs in the whole of Germany.
From the very beginning, the club’s aim had been to combine cycling with social engagement. By the time the professional team of the same name was founded in 2009, I too had become familiar with the BIKE AID community, as we would meet up every week at the cycle races.
It is difficult to summarise the incredibly positive development of the association and the professional team in just a few words: to date, the association has raised over €1,000,000 in donations for social projects in the region. At the same time, the professional team has provided targeted development opportunities for African cyclists, both on and off the road bike.
As a member of BIKE AID e.V., I am very grateful to be able to do my bit for the community. At the same time, I hope that ReRide1926 will reach as many people as possible who would like to support the charitable, local fundraising projects backed by BIKE AID.
